Mental Health Intake Support Specialist (Bilingual)

ChildNet Youth and Family Services is currently seeking a Bilingual Mental Health Intake Support Specialist for our Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Program located in Riverside, CA.

Behavioral Health Services (BHS) provides comprehensive mental health services, including individual/group therapy for at-risk children and their families. The Bilingual Mental Health Intake Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the files of their assigned caseload. The Bilingual Mental Health Intake Support Specialist shall be responsible for providing ongoing support to clients and their families through assessment and evaluation of their needs. The position will assist in coordinating services with referring agencies, obtaining signatures, and completing necessary paperwork for clients who are receiving services through ChildNet. The Bilingual Mental Health Intake Support Specialist will provide interpretation and translation services as needed to both the Clinical and Administrative staff. The position requires attendance at various staff meetings and interaction with administrative and clinical staff on various issues.

The Bilingual Mental Health Intake Support Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide case management services in client’s home and/or school, as needed.
  • Maintain files pertaining to case management brokerage for all assigned active and inactive cases.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff for an interdisciplinary approach to addressing all case management services related to the caseload.
  • Translate counseling sessions and psychiatric sessions in-house or in the field, as assigned.
  • Consult with interdisciplinary team if there is a need to collaborate with client’s foster parents/biological parents, social worker, CSW, teacher, medical doctors, psychiatrist, law enforcement, and Probation department.
  • Coordinate service delivery with county agencies, families, primary caregivers, and other entities as needed by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate with billing department to confirm client eligibility with Medi-Cal and/or private insurance.
  • Translate English documents into Spanish as assigned.
  • Research case management resources for staff to provide to clients.
  • Organize and communicate resources that are available for clients weekly.
  • Maintain availability to assist with emergency situations during office hours.
  • Assist with performing Intake Support duties as requested.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

The Bilingual Mental Health Intake Support Specialist shall possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field of study; AND
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a mental health-related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge/skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, and other required software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Ability communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A criminal background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. An essential function of this position does require driving. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.

  • Pay rate will be determined based on qualifications, degree, experience, bilingual ability, and/or a combination of those factors.
