As Cottage Care Coordinator, you’ll lead care and services for our Cottage residents with progressive dementias, guiding both team members and families with compassion and expertise.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Cottage Care Coordinator oversees the quality of care and services provided to Cottage residents. You’ll lead the Cottage team, develop individualized service plans, and partner closely with families, residents, and department heads to ensure a holistic experience in line with Highgate’s mission.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Oversee the care and service provided to all Cottage residents.
  • Create and update individualized service plans that reflect resident needs, preferences, and life stories.
  • Lead, train, and schedule Cottage Care Partners, ensuring 24/7 coverage with consistent staffing.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and performance feedback to Care Partners.
  • Maintain open communication with families, including formal meetings and regular updates.
  • Collaborate with department heads on dining, activities, clinical, and environmental needs.
  • Support dementia-specific programming including aromatherapy, life skills, and holistic interventions.
  • Monitor and manage labor hours, schedules, and supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements and Highgate policies.
  • Respond promptly to family concerns and elevate issues when necessary.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Compassionate, person-first leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of progressive dementias and ability to guide others in dementia care.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solver.
  • Comfortable with scheduling, delegation, and performance management.
  • Able to balance family communication with resident advocacy and team leadership.

RELATABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Dementia care leadership.
  • Senior living or healthcare team supervision.
  • Resident and family engagement.
  • Staff training and performance management.
  • Care plan development and compliance oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • CPR & First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Current TB test and background clearance.
  • Advanced knowledge of dementia and experience supporting residents through the disease process.
  • Strong communication, writing, and computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
