Job Summary

Pridestaff is seeking a skilled and experienced Set Up Lathe Machinist to join a premier local manufacturing company in Temecula, CA. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating and setting up manual or CNC lathes to fabricate parts according to technical drawings and specifications, setting up and operating lathe machines. Key responsibilities involve reading blueprints, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring precision in all finished products, selecting and installing cutting tools and fixtures, monitoring machine operations, and using precision measurement tools to ensure quality control. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a stable position.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate Lathe machinery to produce parts according to specifications.
• Machine setup: Set up and align fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on both manual and CNC lathes based on blueprint specifications.
• Planning & Efficiency: Plan and determine the most efficient order of machine operation for each job, optimizing production time and material usage.
• Tooling: Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each stage of the machining process.
• Settings & Tolerance: Accurately set cutting speeds, feed rates, and tolerance levels.
• Quality Control: Inspect and verify that all completed work meets established quality standards and precise dimensions.
• Technical Interpretation: Possess a strong working knowledge of, and the ability to accurately read and interpret, complex blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Maintenance: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the work area and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Programming (Plus): Experience with Esprit CAM programming is a significant advantage.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 2 or more years of professional experience as a Lathe Machinist is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proven ability to set up and operate manual or CNC Lathe machines.
• Blueprint Reading: Strong capability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the physical duties associated with a manufacturing environment.
• Screening: Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $28.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
