Position Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials and finished goods. This role involves leading a team, managing inventory, supervising shipping and receiving, and enforcing safety standards. Helping team load and unload in a high-paced manufacturing environment per daily schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Supervise, train, and support warehouse staff.
  • Assign tasks and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.

Inventory & Warehouse Operations

  • Manage inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Ensure materials are stocked and put away in FIFO order.
  • Maintain accurate working knowledge of all products and shipments.
  • Oversee palletizing, packaging, and proper storage of finished goods.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Loading and unloading trucks and containers.
  • Ensure shipments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Complete necessary documentation for inbound/outbound shipments.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA, company, and GMP safety standards at all times.
  • Ensure employees wear the required PPE: safety glasses, earplugs, hair/beard nets, etc.
  • Report equipment issues and ensure machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks) is properly maintained.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, ensuring debris-free dock areas.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Fill out required paperwork for warehouse activities, including checklists and reports.
  • Track warehouse performance metrics and submit reports to management.
  • Document employee discussions and report safety concerns as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in a warehouse/logistics environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners.
  • Certifications: Forklift certification preferred (sit-down experience required).
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying indoor temperatures and dusty environments.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with 24/7 operational environments.

Work Relationships

  • Works with: Team Leads, Warehouse Associates, Lumpers
  • Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
  • Supervisors: Warehouse team members

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
