Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating the efficient flow of information within our medical office. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and systems, as well as a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records by reviewing documentation for compliance.
- Process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely updates to patient records.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to input, retrieve, and manage patient data.
- Train staff on proper documentation practices and the use of medical record systems.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify areas for improvement.
- Respond to inquiries regarding medical records while upholding patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare regulations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
