Position Information

The Patient Contact Center Representative/MA performs administrative support, medical, and technical services to contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations providing a positive patient experience. Provides administrative support to the providers and interacts with patients by scheduling patient appointments in tandem with the provider availability, interacts with patients in person and on the phone, assigned to Contact Center to address patient calls, greets patient at check-in, collects patient information, updates/maintains electronic records, handles visit payments, ensures the exam room has needed inventory for operation, and performs clinic administrative tasks. Secure authorizations for medications. Clinical duties may include escorting patients to exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, assist in procedures, prepare & administer medications and vaccines, laboratory/specimen collection/processing, address quality care gaps and other duties as directed by provider. This position will be primarily assigned to a work location; but may also float as needed to various UCR Health clinic locations. This position may be required to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The full salary range for the Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator is $50,487.84 - $62,807.04 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. This position will be primarily assigned to a work location; but may also float as needed to various UCR Health clinic locations. This position may be required to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The intended location for this posting is for UCR Health's Multi-Specialty location however could also be recruited for our other specialty sites.

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with universal precautions, handling of bio-hazardous waste, specimen identification and transport.

Preferred Qualifications
