Position Summary

The Area Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of multiple STRTP homes or programs, ensuring high-quality therapeutic services for foster youth and non-minor dependents. The Area Manager supervises Head of Service, Program Managers, Clinicians, Directors, or Facility Managers. Ensures compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Community Care Licensing regulations, and works closely with county placing agencies to maintain program quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities Program Oversight

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple STRTP homes.
  • Ensure programs comply with Title 22 regulations, STRTP Interim Licensing Standards, and county contract requirements.
  • Monitor program performance, outcomes, and service quality.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise Head of Service, Program Managers, Clinicians, Directors, or Facility Managers and other leadership staff.
  • Ensure proper staffing ratios and 24-hour supervision for youth.
  • Conduct staff evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions.

Compliance & Licensing

  • Maintain compliance with CDSS Community Care Licensing and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) requirements.
  • Prepare programs for audits, licensing visits, and inspections.
  • Oversee incident reporting and corrective action plans.

Clinical & Treatment Coordination

  • Collaborate with clinical leadership and the Head of Service to ensure trauma-informed treatment services.
  • Monitor implementation of treatment plans and youth behavioral interventions.

County & Community Collaboration

  • Maintain relationships with:
  • County placing agencies (e.g., child welfare and probation)
  • Mental health providers
  • schools and community resources
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and placement coordination.

Operational Management

  • Oversee program budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor data, trends, and quality improvement efforts to improve services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field.
  • 3–5 years experience in STRTP, group home, or residential treatment programs.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of Title 22, CDSS regulations, and STRTP standards.
  • Valid California driver’s license and ability to pass background clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioral Health.
  • Experience managing multiple residential programs or sites.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care models and foster youth services.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
